Center removed steering gear using VAG1907.
^

To do this, remove socket-head bolt -1- from steering gear.

^

Move rack until centering position on rack (arrow) aligns with thread -2-.

^

Hand-tighten VAG1907.

^

Pay attention to bulkhead boot.

Note: 

^

Always replace damaged seals.

^

Check seal for proper seating!

^

Position steering gear on plenum.

Note:  Make sure threads and contact surfaces of bolts are free of oil and grease.

Install bolts -1- and -2-, but do not tighten.

^

Screw in bolt -3- and tighten.

^

Tighten bolts -1- and -2-.

^

Screw on return hose and tighten banjo fitting (22 mm wrench) to 47 Nm.
