Remove bolts at cover for front final drive in reverse of tightening sequence shown here.

Place VAG1383 transmission lift with universal mount underneath.

CAUTION:  
-

Remove cover for front final drive from transmission housing slowly and carefully. Otherwise, fee spur gears can fall out of the transmission.

Spur gears that have fallen to the ground must not be re-used. The transmission must be replaced in this instance.

-

Lift off cover or intermediate flange for front final drive.

Notes: 
-

Do not remove spur gears for final drive. Secure spur gears against falling out.

-

If spur gears for front final drive were in fact removed, gear identification must face outward (away from transmission) when re-installing.

Installing 

-

Be sure fitting sleeve -A- is seated correctly before installing.

-

Place seal on.

-

Place cover or intermediate flange for final drive on.
