Side Protective Strips, Replacing

NOTE:  The protective strips cannot be removed nondestructively.

To remove side protective strip, heat using heat gun and pull off from door.

Keep adhesive surfaces free of dust and grease.

Clean exterior area to be glued using rubbing alcohol, treat with silicon remover and rub dry.
Protective strips must only be glued on at room temperature. The vehicle and protective strip should be stored at room temperature for at least 2
hours before carrying out this work.

Remove protective foil -3- from double-sided adhesive tape -4- shortly before installation.
The protective strip must be installed on the vehicle within 90 minutes of removing the protective foil.

Install protective strip onto side panel of vehicle from front to rear.

Heat protective strip to approx. 40 °C (104 °F) using heat gun and press or roll on firmly.

After installing side protective strip on vehicle, vehicle must be kept at room temperature for another 4 hours.
