Combination Switch: Service and Repair

CAUTION!  Before disconnecting the battery, determine the correct coding for the anti-theft radio.

Removing steering column switch

Remove driver-side airbag unit.

WARNING!  Observe all safety precautions before starting work on any part of the airbag system. See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag
Systems/Service Precautions

Remove steering wheel.

-

Pull out steering column and tilt downward as far as it will go.

Remove screws -1- (2x).
Tightening torque: 2.8 Nm (25 in. lb).

Remove grip -2-.

-

Remove two Phillips-head screws (arrows).
Tightening torque: 0.6 Nm (5 in. lb).

Remove upper section of steering column switch trim -1-.

NOTE:  When installing, insert the upper section intO the hooks on the lower section, swivel it downward and install screws.

Remove screws -2- (2x).
Tightening torque: 0.6 Nm (5 in. lb).

-

Remove socket-head bolt -1-.
