Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair

Power steering pump, assembly overview 

Note:

Always replace seals

Do not reuse fluid you have drained.

Hydraulic fluid: Part No. G 002 000

1 - Expansion hose

Partial section with line, goes to steering gear

2 - Hex bolt, 6 Nm 
3 - Hex bolt, 9 Nm 
4 - Ignition coils with brackets
5 - Power steering pump

Before installing, fill with power steering fluid.

^

Check delivery pressure

^

Removing and installing

6 - Clamp
^

Always replace
^

Tighten using VAG 1275

7 - Intake hose

^

Marking -P- faces forward pump

8- Line for intake hose
9 - Socket head bolt, 22 Nm
