Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 09-07 dated August 12, 2009 for reasons listed below.

Affected Vehicles

CONDITION

^ Front parking assist inoperable.

^ A related warning light may illuminate.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

Water has seeped into the sockets for the front parking assist sensors.

Water particles may have travelled via the crimp connection to the plug, which is not watertight (capillary effect).

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Introduction of watertight crimp connections.

SERVICE

1. Disconnect the parking assist sensors and allow them to dry.

2. If there is visible contact corrosion, replace the corresponding sensors.

3. Replace the set of bumper cables.
