Brake Caliper: Removal and Replacement

Front Brake Caliper Piston, Steel Brakes, RS 6

‹› Install complete repair kit when servicing.

‹› Apply thin coat of Assembly Paste to brake cylinders, pistons and seals.

‹› Bleed the brake system after servicing and installing the brake caliper. Refer to => [ Bleeding Brake System ] See: Hydraulic System/Service and

Repair

CAUTION!
Other than "Front Brake Caliper Piston, Removing and Installing ", do not perform any other repairs on the brake caliper.

Install complete repair kit when servicing.

Apply thin coat of Assembly Paste to brake cylinders, pistons and seals.

CAUTION!
The brake pistons have different diameters. When re-installing, ensure the respective brake piston is inserted in the correct bore in the 
brake caliper. 

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Disassembly Wedge (3409)

‹› Assembly Paste.

‹› Assembly device for protective cap (T10146/5)

‹› Piston resetting tool (T10145)

Removing

-

Force piston from brake caliper housing using compressed air.

-

Pos.- 1 -piston resetting tool (T10145)

‹› Place a wooden board into the recess of the caliper housing so it is not damaged.

Remove protective cap from brake caliper, e.g. with trim removal wedge 3409.
