Remove the pump/valve unit - C -.

Installing

‹› The Coolant Pump (V50) can only be operated after bleeding the coolant circuit (running the Coolant Pump (V50) dry will destroy it).

‹› Both valves of the pump/valve unit (Left Heat Regulation Valve (N175) and Right Heat Regulation Valve (N176)) must be open to bleed the

coolant circuit (they are open when they are not activated).

‹› If the ignition is started with the pump/valve unit connectors disconnected, the errors Coolant Pump (V50), Left Heat Regulation Valve (N175),

and Right Heat Regulation Valve (N176) are detected and stored by the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following:

Reinstall removed components in reverse order of removal (except the plenum chamber cover).

After installation, check the grommet between engine compartment and plenum chamber at the coolant hose - C - for proper seating.

Check the pump/valve unit, it may not make contact with other components (noises).

Bleed the coolant circuit.

After bleeding the coolant circuit, connect the connectors -  D - to the Left Heat Regulation Valve (N175) and Right Heat Regulation Valve
(N176), and - E - to the coolant pump Coolant Pump (V50).

Clean coolant residue from the plenum chamber.

Install the remaining removed components again in reverse order.
