‹› The slots in the balance shaft sprocket must be at the middle position in relation to the threaded holes of the balance shaft. If necessary, adjust
chain by one tooth.

Tighten chain tensioner bolts.

Install the chain sprocket bolts - 1 - loosely.
‹› It must still be possible to rotate the chain sprocket on the balance shaft and it must not tip.

Pull out the Locking Pin (T40071) to release the chain tensioner.

Press against the chain tensioner guide rail - arrow - with screwdriver and simultaneously fasten the bolts - 1 - for sprocket.

Remove the Locating Pin (T40116) from the balance shaft.
The rest of installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Install the left and right timing chain covers. Refer to => [ Left and Right Timing Chain Covers ] See: Timing Components/Timing Cover/Service

Install the transmission-side crankshaft shaft seal. Refer to => [ Crankshaft Seal, Transmission Side ] See: Seals and Gaskets/Crankshaft Main

Fill engine oil and check oil level.
