Footwell Door Motors

Footwell Door Motors

Various designations, Control Motor for Right Footwell Door (V109) ("Comfort" version) and Left Footwell Door Control Motor (V108)
(installed at the right in the "Basic" version)

‹› A potentiometer with an adjustment range of 120 ° is installed in this control motor, its part number at the start of production has index " A".

‹› The designation for this control motor differs between the " Basic" and "Comfort" versions of the A/C system.

‹› The designation Control Motor for Right Footwell Door (V109) applies only to "Comfort" version A/C systems. In vehicles with the "Basic" A/C

system,the designation is Left Footwell Door Control Motor (V108).

‹› The designation for this control motor depends on the version of the A/C system (Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head). The

designation differs in the guided fault finding and flow diagram for the "Comfort" and "Basic" versions. 

‹› On vehicles with "Basic" version A/C system, the front left and right footwell doors are operated by the Left Footwell Door Motor (V108) (the left

and right doors are connected via a coupling rod=> [ Connection between Left and Right Footwell Door, Basic A/C Unit ] See: Air Door

‹› Mark motor/door connecting elements when removing (danger of swapping with connecting elements of the other actuator motors).

‹› Mark the control motors prior to removing them, follow the correct assignment when installing and the correct part number and index when

replacing (the various control motors have different electrical values and are different in the part number index).

‹› In the event of fault "Upper or lower limit value exceeded", check connecting element of engine/door, it must be attached to engine accurate to

side and there must not be any clearance between actuator mount and connecting element.

Removing

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove glove box.

-

Remove right lower center console cover.

-

On the right side remove the holder for the instrument panel -  A - and the screws - C -.

-

Remove the air duct to the front passenger's footwell vent -  B -.

-

Mark connector - C - to control motor (danger of interchange with other connectors of same construction).
