Condition

The customer may report that after engine start the steering is stiffer than it used to be and/or that the glove compartment cannot be opened. This
condition is also present in the next driving cycle.

Service

1. Vehicle Electrical System 2 may experience issues with reading data from its EEPROM. Verify with the VAS Scantool if one or more of the

following conditions apply:

The Identification of the 4F - Vehicle Electrical System 2 is ???-?????.??.??????????.

-

DTC 02084 (Component protection active) is stored in the memory of 4F - Vehicle Electrical System 2.

-

The condition can temporarily be resolved with a power supply reset (terminal 30) of 4F - Vehicle Electrical System 2.

2. If one or more of the conditions apply, replace the 4F - Vehicle Electrical System 2 control module.
