Remove right drive shaft heat shield - arrow-.

Vehicles with automatic transmission

-

Remove right drive axle from transmission axle flange.

Continued for all:

-

Remove nut at starter solenoid terminal B+ - 2 - and connection for terminal 50 -3-.

-

Remove bolts - 1 - and - 4 -.

Vehicles with automatic transmission

-

Remove starter towards rear of wheel housing.

Vehicles with standard transmission

-

Remove starter from between transmission and subframe.

NOTE:  For clarity, subframe shown removed in illustrations.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

-

Reinstall right drive axle from transmission axle flange.

-

Reconnect battery. Required steps.

Tightening torques
