ATF Additional Filter

‹› Rules of cleanliness for working on automatic transmissions => [ Clean Working Conditions ] See: Service Precautions/01J,0AN

Transmission/Clean Working Conditions.

‹› Always blow compressed air through ATF cooler and ATF lines (max. 10 mbar) and replace auxiliary ATF filter before installing a replacement

transmission => [ ATF Pipes and ATF Cooler, Cleaning ] See: Transmission Cooler/Service and Repair. If extremely dirty ATF flows out when
blowing with compressed air, ATF cooler and ATF lines must also be flushed with clean ATF.

‹› When installing, insert ATF lines by hand to stop in cooler, then screw in.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Used oil collection and extraction device (V.A.G 1782)

Removing

-

Remove bolts - arrows -.

-

Remove air guide - 1 - and - 2 -. 

-

Remove front and rear noise insulation by loosening fasteners -  2 - and, if equipped, - arrow -.
