Determining dimension "a" and dimension "b"

Distance of flange to drive pinion = dimension "a"

Distance of flange to securing nut for drive pinion = dimension "b"

Take note of the determined dimensions.

Mark position of drive pinion nut with paint - arrow -.

Bolt on Counterhold 3028.

-

Unscrew securing nut for pinion shaft completely. Count the number of turns required and make a note of this number.

Reuse previously installed hex nut for securing flange to drive pinion. Otherwise the original installation position cannot be determined again.
