Brake caliper piston, removing and installing

Brake piston resetting tool

G 052 150 A2 brake cylinder paste

Removing

-

Force piston from brake caliper housing using compressed air.

Note:  Place a wooden board into file recess of the caliper housing to catch the piston so it is not damaged.

Remove seal.

-

Use 3409 wedge for this.

Note:  When removing, make sure that surface of cylinder is not damaged.

Installing
-

Use only appropriate solvent to clean surfaces of piston and protective seal, then dry.

-

Apply thin coat of brake cylinder paste G 052 150 A2 to piston and protective seal before installing.
