Front Side Airbag (Sport Seat), Removing And Installing

Removing

CAUTION!
Note safety specifications when working on airbag.

-

For vehicles with coded radio unit, radio/navigation system (RNS) note coding; ask if necessary.

-

Disconnect battery ground strap/cable and cover negative pole.

-

Remove front seat.

-

Remove connector at seat pan -2- for side airbag with bracket.

-

Cut through three cable ties -3-.

-

Pull wire -1- through loop -4-.

-

Remove wire for side airbag from connector housing -4-.

-

Press bracket -5- downward using screwdriver and slide bracket in direction of arrow.

-

Slide violet fuse -7- one notch in direction of arrow and remove wire.

NOTE:  

Cavity routing of connector housing:
-

Blue wire to terminal 1.

-

Brown wire to terminal 2.

-

Pull wire -1- through cut out -2-.

-

Remove seatback cover.
