Vehicles Which Have Been In Accidents

Before the toe or toe constant "S" can be checked or adjusted on these vehicles the steering must be centered.
Center the steering as described in the wheel alignment computer instructions.

Special tool VAG 1907 is required for wheel alignment on vehicles which had been involved in an accident.
LHD, Refer to Alignment, Service and Repair.

Check to ensure that the steering wheel is positioned as horizontally as possible on the steering column when the wheels are in the "straight ahead"
position.

Reposition steering wheel if necessary.

Only then can a center position on the rack be guaranteed!

Vehicles with electronic stability program 
If the steering wheel is offset on these vehicles, basic setting of the steering angle sensor must be checked

Overview of work procedure for vehicle alignment 
The work sequence of steps must be adhered to
1. Check rear axle camber and adjust if necessary, Refer to Alignment, Service and Repair.
2. Check rear axle toe and adjust if necessary, Refer to Alignment, Service and Repair.
3. Check front axle camber and adjust if necessary, Refer to Alignment, Service and Repair.
4. Check toe in curve on front axle if necessary, Refer to General Information, See tables, and the description, Refer to Alignment, Testing and

Inspection. Indicate if and when the toe in curve/toe constant "S" requires adjustment

5. Check front axle toe with vehicle unladen and adjust if necessary, Refer to Alignment, Service and Repair.
