VW 681 Release lever

3455 Pressure piece

^

Remove transmission 

^

Attach transmission to repair stand or place on flat surface.

^

Pull torque converter out carefully.

^

Remove snap ring (item -2- .

^

Remove sealing ring for torque convertor using release lever VW 681.

Notes: 

^

Position the VW 681 lever immediately behind the sealing lip of the seal so that the wavy washer (item -4- is not damaged.

^

Replace the wavy washer if it is damaged.

^

Replace the snap ring if it is damaged.

^

Drive torque converter seal in to stop using pressure piece 3455.

^

Install snap ring in groove.

Notes: 

^

The open side of the sealing ring faces the transmission.

^

Coat the outer surface and sealing lip of the sealing ring with a thin coat of Vaseline.

^

Before driving in the sealing ring, it must be assured that the wavy washer (item -4 is installed undamaged.

^

The snap ring must contact the base of the groove.
