The same nut must be used. Otherwise, the original installed position cannot be found.

Make sure pinion nut and threads on pinion are free of oil and grease and coat threads lightly with locking compound, D 000 600.

Place drive shaft flange on pinion and install using driving sleeve 3143 until pinion nut can be installed.

Tighten pinion nut to exact original position (previously marked).

Carry out control measurement of dimensions -a- and -b- in order to make sure installation is OK.

Note:

The dimensions may deviate by a maximum of ± 0.5 mm (0. 020 inch) from the preliminary measurements.
