Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Brake Booster/Dual Master Cylinder, Assembly Overview

Note:

Brake master cylinders cannot be disassembled, i.e. they are not intended to be serviced.

Use only new brake fluid. Refer to label on brake fluid reservoir.

Allocation of brake line connections:

Refer to Hydraulic Control Assembly.

1. Master cylinder, Diameter = 25.4 mm

Cannot be repaired. Replace as complete unit if malfunctioning.

Removing and installing.

2. T45 Torx, 25 Nm
3. Flange nut, 50 Nm

Always replace

4. Sealing plugs

^

Moisten with brake fluid and insert in master cylinder

^

Press brake fluid reservoir into gasket

5. Brake fluid reservoir with floating brake fluid level warning switch

^

Function test
-

Remove cover and press onto visible sieve using hand with ignition switched on. Warning lamp in instrument cluster lights up and an
acoustic warning signal is sounded.
