Camshaft: Testing and Inspection
Valve -1- For Camshaft Adjust -N205- & -2- For -N208- Check

Switch ignition on.

-

Start output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) and select camshaft adjustment. Refer to "Scan Tool Testing/Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)
(Function 03)" See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection

Output Diagnostic Test Mode ->
Camshaft adjustment 1

When the camshaft adjustment is activated, both solenoid valves should click audibly.

If this result is not obtained, carry out the following tests:

Electrical test of solenoid valves for camshaft adjustment

Disconnect harness connector from camshaft adjustment solenoid valve which is to be tested.

Measure resistance between the valve contacts using multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent).

Specification: 10 to 18 ohm

If the reading does not match the specification:

-

Replace relevant camshaft adjustment solenoid valve.

Checking voltage supply to camshaft adjustment solenoid valves

-

Disconnect harness connector from solenoid valve which is to be tested.
