Remove nut -1- on universal joint.

Turn tensioning bolt in clockwise direction to loosen eccentric and remove bolt.
Note: Locking element -2- has been discontinued (for improved assembly in production).
Securing steering column against moving apart
Refer to Steering Column, Service and Repair.

Swing universal joint away downward.
^
Remove sealing collar inward.
Note:

Always install new sealing collar if damaged.
^
Make sure sealing collar is properly positioned.
^
Coarse-threaded locking pin at bulkhead must be located in recess in sealing collar.

Remove front wheels.
