Differential Output Shaft: Service and Repair
Left Drive Flange, Removing and Installing
Removing

Remove filler plug (arrow) from differential cover and remove approximately 0.5 liter (0.5 quarts) of gear oil from final drive using suction
device VAG 1358 A.
CAUTION!
Removing file gear oil will prevent the gear oil from flowing into file ATF. Otherwise, the hydraulic transmission control will be affected.

Remove left-front wheel.

Remove heat shield for left drive axle.
^
Remove left drive axle.
^
Remove speedometer Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) .
^
Remove bracket for connector from drive flange bracket.
^
Remove bracket for left drive flange (arrows).
^
Pull out left drive flange.
Note:
If the transmission is installed, the left drive flange can be pulled out between the body and the subframe if the drive flange bracket is turned
approximately 60 to the right.
