To avoid imbalance, the flanges of the drive shaft -A- and rear final drive -arrow B- must be installed in alignment with the factory markings or the
ones that you applied.
^
If you install a new drive shaft and the factory marking is no longer visible at the flange of the rear final drive, the run-out must be checked at the
flange drive chaff/rear final drive and the paint mark on the drive shaft must be aligned with the new paint mark on the flange for the rear final
drive.
^
Replace seals at flange shafts. remove adhesive foil and install seal with adhesive side on flange.
^
After removing the drive shaft from the final drive, do not reinstall the additional balance weight (thicker washer) that may be between washer and
bolt head.
^
Carefully clean the threaded holes of the flange shafts of the transmission of all residues of locking compound, otherwise the new bolts will be too
tight and could break during the next removal.
^
You can clean the threads with a thread chaser.
^
Replace drive shaft bolts (self locking).
^
Adjust drive shaft after installation .
^
Install tunnel support. Tightening torque 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
