Fluid - Transfer Case: Service and Repair

 
Distributor Gear Fluid, Changing or Topping Off After Repair

Disconnect right three way catalytic converter from rear exhaust system and press three way catalytic converter to right.

Draining fluid

^

Place oil drain pan underneath distributor gear to catch fluid.

^

Remove drain plug (arrow-A-) and drain fluid.

^

Install drain plug (arrow-A-).

Note:

-

Always replace the drain plug.

Filling fluid 

^

Remove filler plug (arrow -B-).

^

Fill with fluid.
Specification and quantity

^

Install filler plug (arrow -B-).

^

Test drive vehicle.

^

Check distributor gear fluid level again and top off if necessary.

Note:

-

Only after a short test drive can it be assured that the transmission fluid just put in has also flowed into the Torsen differential.
