Apply the silicone sealant bead to the clean sealing surfaces of the lower oil pan as shown in the illustration.

‹› Thickness of sealant bead - arrow -: 1.5 mm

‹› The lower oil pan must be installed within 5 minutes after application of the silicone sealant.

‹› Sealant bead must not be thicker than specified, otherwise the sealant could get into the lower oil pan and clog the oil pump strainer.

Install the lower oil pan in place and tighten all bolts in a diagonal sequence to 5 Nm.

Tighten the lower oil pan bolts in a diagonal sequence to 10 Nm.

Add engine oil and check the oil level.
