3. Remove the rubber cover and spring pin from the new spring-loaded bump stop assembly (part number 8H0 827 249 A).

Note:

Do not use metal pliers to unscrew the spring-loaded pin from the new part. The metal teeth will damage the soft plastic. Damage to the part will prevent
the rubber cover from seating properly on the bump stop.

4. Hand screw the new spring-loaded pin into the trunk lid.
