‹› Installation of the camshaft drive chain to the left and right cylinder heads differ. Note different procedures!

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Sealant

Removing

-

Remove the engine. Refer to => [ Engine, Removing ] See: Service and Repair/Engine, Removing.

Remove the toothed belt. Refer to => [ Toothed Belt ] See: Timing Components/Timing Belt/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Toothed Belt.

Remove the camshaft gear.

-

Remove idler roller bolt - arrow - and roller.

-

Remove the bolts - 1 and 2 - and remove the rear toothed belt guard.

Disconnect the electrical connector - arrow - from the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (G40).
