Engine Oil Pressure: Testing and Inspection

Oil Pressure and Switch, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Oil pressure gauge (VAG 1342)

‹› Voltage tester (VAG 1527B)

‹› Connector test set (VAG 1594C)

‹› Vehicle diagnostic, testing, and information system (VAS 5051)

Test Prerequisites

‹› Oil level is OK

‹› Engine oil temperature is approximately 80° C (176° F)

Checking the Oil Pressure Switch

Disconnect the electrical connector - arrow - from the oil pressure switch (F1).

-

Remove the oil pressure switch.

-

Install the (VAG 1342) with the (VAG 1342/14) to hole for the oil pressure switch.

-

Install the oil pressure switch - 2 - into the (VAG 1342).
