Connect the brown wire - 1 - from the (VAG 1342) to a known good ground.

Connect the (VAG 1527B) using adapter cables from the (VAG 1594A) to the oil pressure switch and the battery positive terminal.

‹› Light Emitting Diode (LED) must not light up.

-

If the LED is lit, replace the oil pressure switch.

-

Start the engine.

‹› While starting engine, watch the (VAG 1342) and LED as the oil pressure switch may open during start.

Black Oil Pressure Switch

‹› At 1.2 to 1.6 bar pressure, LED must light up.

-

If LED is not lit, the oil pressure switch must be replaced.

Oil Pressure, Checking

-

Disconnect the electrical connector - arrow - from the oil pressure switch.

-

Remove the oil pressure switch.

-

Connect the (VAG 1342) with the (VAG 1342/14) to the hole for the oil pressure switch.

-

Install the oil pressure switch - 2 - into the (VAG 1342).

-

Start the engine (engine oil temperature approximately 80° C (176° F)).
