CAUTION!
Fuel system is under pressure. Before loosening hose connections or opening the test connection (for fuel pressure testing), place rags
around the connection area. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.

Briefly open fuel filler cap (pressure release).

Pull rear engine compartment cover - 1 - up and off.

Cover threaded connections that hold fuel pressure with a shop rag.

Open fuel line threaded connection - arrow - and catch escaping fuel using a shop rag.

Install fuel injection pressure gauge (VAG1318) with adapters between fuel supply line and fuel rail.
‹› The shut-off valve of the fuel injection pressure gauge (VAG1318) must be installed on the fuel supply line side!

Open fuel pressure shut-off valve. Lever points in flow direction.

Start engine and run at idle speed.

Measure fuel pressure.
‹› Specification: approx. 4.0 bar positive pressure.

Switch off ignition.
-
Check proper seal and residual pressure with pressure drop on pressure gauge.
