Condition

"Handbook" appears in the Car Menu of the Front Information Display Control Head (J685). This option has no function.

Technical Background

The "Handbook" option is a European feature and does not apply to the U.S. or Canadian markets. Therefore, the functionality is not included in the
software.

Service

Remove the "Handbook" option in the Car Menu from the Front Information Display Control Head (J685)

In a VAS Tester, complete the following procedure:

1.

Select: Vehicle Self Diagnosis >> 07 - Display/Control Unit >> 10 - Adaptation

2.

Go to Adaptation Channel 11

3.

Change the value from "1" to "0"

4.

Perform the MMI system reset procedure by pressing and holding the three buttons as shown below and verify the "Handbook" option is removed
from the Car Menu.
