Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor V48 / V49

Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor V48 / V49, removing and installing

CAUTION: Always disconnect battery ground strap before working on gas-discharge headlight components marked with yellow high-voltage
symbols.

Removing

-

Activate vehicle lift mode.

-

With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (GND) cable.

-

Remove appropriate front wheel.

-

Remove appropriate front wheel housing liner.

-

Loosen locking bolt - 1 - a few turns.

-

Release retainer tabs - arrows - and detach low beam housing cover from headlight housing.

-

Remove screws - arrows -.

-

By swivelling control motor - 1 -, push ball end of positioning stem downwards out of socket.

-

Disconnect connector - 2 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

-

Start by inserting ball end of positioning stem from underneath in reflector socket. To do so, pull reflector to rear.

NOTE: Control motor removal/installation and replacement are always to be followed by headlight adjustment 404.

Close housing cover and secure with screw.

-

Install front wheel housing liner.

-

Connect battery. Required actions.

-

Deactivate vehicle lift mode.

Tightening torque

Adjusting motor for vertical headlight beam control to headlight housing: 1 Nm
