Fuel Pressure Regulator and Residual Pressure with Return Line, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Fuel Injector Pressure gauge (VAG1318)

‹› Adapter (VAG1318/7) and (VAG1318/15)

Test Prerequisites

‹› Fuel Pump (FP) Relay OK.

‹› Fuel Pump (FP) OK.

‹› Fuel filter OK.

‹› Battery voltage at least 12.5 volts.

‹› Vehicles with automatic transmission: Selector lever in P or N.

‹› The parking brake button must be engaged in order to connect the electrical parking brake.

‹› Fuel pressure regulator regulates fuel pressure according to intake manifold pressure.

CAUTION!
Fuel system is under pressure! Before loosening hose connections or opening the test connection (for fuel pressure measurement), place
rags around the connection point. Then release pressure by carefully loosening connection.

Open fuel filler flap briefly (pressure release).

Cover the threaded connection, which is under fuel pressure, using a cleaning cloth.

Open threaded connection (- arrow -) and catch exiting fuel using a rag.
