Voice Recognition System - Can't Be Activated

91 Voice recognition system cancels request

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 08-127 dated November 12, 2008 for reasons listed below.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

CONDITION

After pressing the PTT button in the steering wheel to activate voice recognition, a confirmation beep followed by a voice command "Cancel" is heard.

The voice recognition system cannot be activated.

In addition, no DTC can be found in the voice recognition system (Address word 67).

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

May be caused by component protection for the voice recognition system is active. 

However, due to initialization delay, no related DTC is stored.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Voice recognition system control unit with Software version 0600 will fix this concern. (A DTC will then be stored.)
