Air Spring Damper, Emptying

Air Spring Damper, Emptying

Remove the front air spring damper. Refer to => [ Air Spring Damper ] See: Removal and Replacement/Front Suspension/Air Spring Damper.

Slowly open the residual pressure retaining valve - 2 - on the front air spring damper and allow the air pressure to escape.

Remove the rear air spring damper. Refer to => [ Air Spring Damper ] See: Removal and Replacement/Rear Suspension.

Slowly open the residual pressure retaining valve - 2 - on the rear air spring damper and allow the air pressure to escape.

Illustrations show a conventional shock absorber. The procedure for an air spring damper is the same.

A - Opening by Drilling a Hole

Secure the air spring damper vertically in a vise with the piston rod facing down.

CAUTION!
Wear protective eyewear while drilling.

Drill a 3 mm diameter hole - arrow A - through the outer tube of the shock absorber.
