Screw the old drive axle bolt into the CV joint as shown in the illustration.

Drive the CV joint onto the axle shaft with plastic hammer until the circlip engages.

Insert 50 grams of the drive axle grease into the CV joint on the boot side.

Grease the outer CV joint. Refer to => [ Grease Quantity and Type ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Suspension/Drive

Slide the CV joint boot onto the joint.

-

Make sure the boot is seated on the joint correctly.

-

The CV joint boot must fit in the groove and on the joint contour.

Instructions only apply to stainless steel clamps.

The galvanized clamps for the rubber CV joint boots are clamped using the (VAG 1275).

Tighten the Small and Large Clamps on the Outer CV Joint.

Use the (VAG 1682) as shown in the illustration. Be sure that the edges of the (VAG 1682) are seated in the corners - arrows B - of the clamp.

Tension the clamp by turning the spindle with a torque wrench (do not tilt clamp tool). 

‹› Tightening specification: 20 Nm.

‹› Use a torque wrench with 5 to 50 Nm range (for example, (VAG 1331)).
