Air Filter Element

Removing

-

Open the hose clamp - 2 - and remove the air guide hose from the upper air filter housing.

-

Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.

Remove the screws - arrows - from the upper air filter housing and remove the housing.

-

Remove the air filter element.

-

Cover the open lower air filter housing with a clean cloth.

‹› Make sure no dirt gets into the lower air filter housing.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following.

For trouble free function of the MAF sensor, it is important to observe the following notes and perform the work procedures exactly.

‹› In the event the air filter element is severely contaminated or completely saturated, dirt particles or moisture may penetrate the MAF sensor and

falsify the measured air mass value. This results in a reduction of power, since a lower injection quantity is calculated.

‹› Always use an original equipment air filter element.
