Pry out lower clamping strip - 9 - using a screwdriver.

Pull the cover - 8 - down over the bracket - 7 -.
-
Turn back cover in area of side airbag - 2 -.
-
Unzip - 1 - protective cover of side airbag - 4 -.
-
Open securing clip at side airbag connector - 5 - and disconnect connector.

Turn back cover and upholstery in area of side airbag - 2 - far enough so the back side of the side airbag is accessible.

Remove nuts - 6 - (Qty. 2).

Remove side airbag - 2 -.
‹› Installing

Install side airbag - 2 - in reverse order of removal.

Close zip fastener - 1 - on protective cover for side airbag - 4 - using Closing Pliers (VAS 6138) or Pliers For Rear Side Airbag, Audi (VAS
6273), different zip fasteners have been installed.
CAUTION!
No one should be in vehicle when connecting battery.

Connect battery ground strap.

5 - Connector for side airbag
6 - Nuts (Qty. 2)
7 - Retainer
8 - Cover
9 - Lower retaining strip
‹› Follow the safety precautions after connecting the battery.
‹› If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) signals a malfunction after installation, DTC memory must be checked, erased and once again
checked using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 A).
