Passenger Occupant Detection Belt Latch

Removing

‹› The passenger occupant detection system belt latch is only installed on the passenger seat.

CAUTION!
Replace the passenger occupant detection system belt latch each time the passenger belt tensioner deploys.

 Remove seat => [ Seat ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Power Memory Front Seats.

Remove side trim on tunnel side - 1 - => [ Side Trim, Tunnel Side ] See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Power Memory Front Seats.

Disconnect cable harness - 3 - at connector leading to cable harness of Passenger Occupant Detection Control Module (J706) and clip at seat.

-

Unscrew the bolt - 2 - that secures the belt buckle - 6 - and remove belt buckle - 6 -.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal. Note the following:

Replace the belt latch mounting bolt.

 In the installed state, pin on belt buckle - 4 - must lie in the seat recess - 5 -.

‹› If the passenger occupant detection system belt latch is replaced, fill out the system registration sheet with the serial number and bar code label

from the new belt latch and send it to the importer.
