Flange Shaft Seals

‹› Driver (2062)

‹› Drip Tray (V.A.G 1306) 

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331) 

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332) 

‹› Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) with Universal Transmission Support (V.A.G 1359/2)

‹› Wheel Hub Support (T10149)

‹› Sealing grease (G 052 128 A1)

Removing

‹› The rear final drive is installed

‹› Follow the general repair instructions, refer to => [ General Repair Information ] See: Description and

Operation/01AA,01EA,02XA,0A3A,01VA,09EA,09LA Transmission/General Repair Information.

‹› All illustrations show the left side of the rear final drive. Removing and installing the flange shaft and seal on the right side is identical.

Remove the bolts - 2 - and then remove the heat shield.

Remove bolts - 1 -.

-

Push the drive axle toward the outside and swivel it out of the flange shaft.

If the drive axle does not come out of the flange shaft, do the following:
