Wheel Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Rear

LEGEND

1. Stub axle with ABS wheel speed sensor rotor
2. Outer CV joint with ABS wheel speed sensor rotor
3. ABS wheel speed sensor
4. Seal
5. Clamping sleeve
6. Clips for ABS wheel speed sensor wire

NOTE:  During removal and installation procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below.

COMPONENT NOTES

Stub Axle With ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Rotor (1)
-

Check rotor for dirt and damage.

-

If rotor is damaged, stub axle with rotor must be replaced.

-

Stub axle is suppled with rotor as replacement part.

ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (4)
-

Identical part on right and left.

-

Before installing, install seal and grease all around with brake cylinder paste. Then press in to stop by hand.

Clamping Sleeve (5)
-

Always replace.

-

Identical part on right and left.

-

Grease all around with brake cylinder paste before installing in wheel bearing housing.

-

Press into wheel bearing housing to stop. 

Clips For ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Wire (6)
-

Detach wheel speed sensor plug connection and disconnect.

-

Detach wheel speed sensor wire from clips.
