Timing Belt: Adjustments

1. To set the basic adjustment of belt tensioner proceed as follows:

a. Turn eccentric insert of tensioning roller clockwise using commercial two-hole nut turner tool No. Matra V/159, or equivalent.

b. Adjust position of tensioning roller until damper length -a- is within specified range.

Damper length -a-:

Engine cold: 136-139 mm (5.35-5.47 inch).
Engine warm: 126-129 mm (4.96-5.08 inch).

c. Tighten tensioning roller to: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

2. Crank engine at least two revolutions.
3. Check damper length and if necessary, adjust tensioning roller.
