Steering Wheel With Coil Spring (Clockspring)

Coil Spring (Clockspring) Removal/Installation, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts

Nut

Tighten to, 40 Nm (30 ft lb)

Airbag Unit

WARNING:  Before the steering wheel is removed:

^

The ground strap (GND) must be disconnected from the battery.

^

The 1-pin connector for the power supply of the air bag system must be disconnected

^

The front wheels must be turned to the straight-ahead position. 

^

Failure to observe this instruction will result in the coil spring being over-tensioned, which will cause failure of the airbag system.
