Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Impulse Wheel

NOTE:  The following special tools and testing equipment are necessary for this work:

VW 401 - Pressure plate

^

VW 402 - Pressure plate

^

VW 412 - Thrust piece

^

2040 - Pipe piece

^

32-109 - Insertion pipe

Removal

-

Remove left drive flange, refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.

-

Remove circlip (arrow -A-) for ball bearing.

-

Place left drive flange bracket on pressure plates VW 401 and VW 402 and press drive flange out of bracket using thrust piece VW 412.

-

Remove impulse wheel for speedometer VSS -G22- from drive flange or bracket.
