Steering Angle Sensor: Service and Repair

Steering-angle sensor -G85- on vehicles with ESP

Steering-angle sensor is slipped over steering column shaft.
To service the sensor, install a new steering column.  See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Assembly Overview
Zero position compensation" must be performed for this sensor:

If ABS control module (w/EDL) -J104- or steering angle sensor -G85- are replaced.

If vehicle alignment is adjusted when checking vehicle alignment.

If there is a fault in the fault memory of ABS control module (w/EDL) J104- and the instructions in the DTC table require the zero position
compensation to be carried out.
