Connect multimeter between contacts 2 and 3 on connector -B- to measure resistance range.

If the resistance is 0 Ohms. there is a short circuit. If the resistance is x Ohms. there is an open circuit in the wiring.

Note:  To test the maximum and minimum resistance values for "tank full" and "tank empty" remove the Fuel Supply Sensor 4 -G393-  and move the
sender float all the way to its top or bottom position.

When the fuel gauge sender is removed, the arm of the float will travel further and the specifications are:
