Remove 2 mm of extended rib (arrows) on lock-mounting bracket.

Using a file (see note below), remove 2 mm of material along area shown.

-

Remove 2 mm of casting nub (arrow) as well.

-

Install front door lock assembly (see Repair Manual Repair group 57 - Door lock, removing and installing.

-

Assemble door lock cover and if needed door window.

-

Install door panel (see Repair Manual Repair group 70 - Front door trim, removing and installing).

CAUTION!

Always check with your Parts Dept. for the latest parts information.

Note:

When removing aluminum material, a file That is only used for aluminum must be used to prevent corrosion.

When procedure applies to vehicles within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, use the table.
