Condition
Sun roof opens again when closing (roll back safety system is sporadically activated if the sun roof is moved from latch 8 to the closed position and glass
cover is pushed along by the headlining of the sun roof).
Only vehicles with glass sun roof cover are affected.
Cause:
The control electronics of the sun roof drive establishes a higher friction value, which leads to the sporadic activation of the roll back safety system.
Production
Modified shore hardness of the carrier buffers from VIN 4E_5N007051.
Service
Replace carrier plate on sun roof headliner using repair kit Part No: 4E0 898 921.
Tip:
Loosen the fastening of the rubber boot (cover rear edge).

Loosen rubber boot left and right sides of glass cover.
Tip:
DO NOT tilt or slide the sun roof to any position without first removing the sunroof glass cover.
