Affected Vehicles

66 Wind noises in the door area

Condition

Door mirror wind noise (buzzing) from 45 mph. Wind noises in the window channel strip area.

Technical Background

Spacers (felt) between the mirror mounting base and mirror housing are missing or worn away.

Incorrect installation of the inner window channel strip.

Production Solution

Modified mirror mounting base.

Improved installation in preparation.

Service

To address door mirror wind noise

1. To address door mirror wind noise (buzzing) from 45 mph, fold back the mirror. Check whether felt is installed.

2. If felt is installed and the noise still occurs, apply felt strip material 533 867 910A on the complete area.

To address wind noises in the window channel strip area

1. To address wind noises in the window channel strip area, remove the door trim and detach the window channel strip.
